What we do

What is Orthodontics?
Orthodontic treatment can improve your dental health, change your facial appearance for the better and it can boost your self-esteem. It can provide you with the chance to participate in improving the way you look and feel. Two systems that we use to enhance the appearance of your teeth are Damon and Incognito.

How does it work?
We use wire and plastic braces, which over a period of time move the teeth into the desired position to improve both appearance and function.

What is the best age for treatment?
We usually wait until patients are 11 or 12. We do not start treatment until a child is at least 8. It’s never too late to benefit from orthodontic treatment and we are treating more and more adults.

What happens at the first appointment?
All our new patients have a 15-minute appointment with an orthodontist for examination and diagnosis when options for treatment can be discussed. Only children with moderately to severely crooked teeth can be accepted for NHS treatment.

How long does it take?
Treatment lasts anything from a few weeks
to 2 years to complete.

Damon Braces

This fixed brace is different, using this system we don’t just align the teeth, we create beautiful smiles accounting for the face, profile and other factors. Treatment with this brace is generally quicker with far fewer appointments.

Incognito

Incognito is a tailor-made fixed brace, it fits perfectly on the inner surface of each tooth.

From the outside it is virtually invisible which means that Incognito braces can straighten your teeth without anyone noticing. It is suitable for all age groups.
