NHS treatment

All children under 18 are eligible for a free NHS orthodontic assessment.

Government guidelines introduced in 2006, allow us to provide NHS orthodontic treatment for children under the age of 18 whose dental health and function is compromised. During the initial assessment The Index of Treatment Need (IOTN) scale is used to determine whether the patient has a dental health need for orthodontic treatment in which case treatment may be available under the NHS.

NHS treatment is no longer available to those with mild irregularities.

We are pleased to provide the same professional care to our NHS patients as our private patients, but due to funding some treatments are only available on a private basis.

Re-treatment cases and all adult treatments are only available on a private basis.
